Threaded - the fresh face of design
Threaded magazine is a submission-based magazine that showcases NZ design talent from the tertiary sector. After producing three editions, Threaded has undergone a timely period of reflection and taken on board some valuable feedback from colleagues in the industry.
Consequently it was time for a brand spanking new website. Threaded's new site is a web-hive of creativity; tune in to budding designers, featured designers and Threaded Media's own portfolio pieces. Get inspired by their galleries and send in your fresh new designs.
Edition four of the magazine (in stockists June 07) presents a series of key interviews by practicing designers and is an exciting graphic collaboration with DesignWorks Ltd.
Requirements
Threaded required a showcase for past magazine features as well as promoting Threaded Media, a specialist graphic design and print services company. The synergy between Threaded Magazine and Threaded Media provides a unique environment where the types of innovative work shown in the magazine are incorporated commercially.
The Threaded website has been rebuilt in Flash with XML feeds for all content making the site design-focused but easily updateable.
An accessible HTML version of the Threaded website has also been built which allows users to view the majority of content without Flash Player installed or Javascript enabled. The creation of an HTML version also enables search engine indexing.
